Mclaren's first self developed car gets and up date, with more power!
After its illustrious 40 year history, Mclaren finally launched its owen car designed completely and built by the fine itself. Released in 2009 at the Frankfurt motor show, it has been a complete hit, with is curvy shape, great handling and amazing power its kind of hard to imagine improving on it. But they have! Now called the SLS AMG GT and will be sold again both in the coupe and roadster variant, a price has not bee announced yet. The German company has announced they will be adding a "designo style" package, which will add more colours, crazy cool leather interiors and carbon fiber inserts on the interior and outside. It will also feature carbon ceramic brakes and a killer Bang & Olufsen wound system.
The technical specifications of the car are as follows. Still using the naturally aspirated 6,2 Liter V8 pushed to produce 582 Bhp (Kw) but still the 667 N.m (479 lb-ft) of torque. This means the sprint to 0-100km is estimated to be a whisker faster (3.6 seconds vs. 3.7 seconds for the 2012 model). Top speed remains electronically limited to 197 mph.
There is also a new re calibrated 7 speed dual clutch gear box for faster gear changes. The suspension is also modified, making is stiffer for better handling and easier everyday driving. We shall keep a close eye on this car, as it has a lot of interest. Let's us know what you think. Mclaren seems to be on a rite coarse to the top of the super car podium, we are intrigued to see what's next for this car company.
