Subaru BRZ
The Subaru BRZ is a conjoined project with Toyota and their GT 86. Let’s talk Subaru today. A project meant to bring pure driving pleasure at a reasonable price and maybe bring back the tuner flame into the car market once more.
The BRZ is rear wheel drive sport car. The engine has been mounted lower than in any other car to give it a low centre of gravity (the lowest seen on a production car). This in turn offers direct and sharp response to the steering and road feel. Combined with the low kerb weight of just 1240kg, it makes for a pure handling delight driving experience, taken to the next level.
The engine is concept designed new-generation naturally aspirated Boxer engine. 2 Litre, four cylinder producing 200hp/149kw and 205Nm. With 7.8l/100km and a top speed of 224km/h. Connected to a six-speed manual with a short stroke shift lever or even a six-speed auto with paddle shift and auto-blipping on downshifts.
All this put together brings out the best from this car, making it a driver’s car. Reports have shown that it’s not the best straight line performer but around the corners you will be smiling from ear to ear has you have to look out the side window to ensure you make it round the corner you just took. The BRZ easily has the ability to be a good drift car that won’t fight you or even put you into the wall and encourage you to trust your abilities.
So rev it up, get it sideways, and give the word fun FUN!
