Audi SQ5 TDI

With a 1-2-3 front row win at the 24 hour Le Mans, with their all new diesel-electric-hybrid. Audi has unveiled an all new diesel power house for the Q5 model range.

The Audi SQ5 TDI will make its way into the dealerships by the first quarter of 2013 and will be the first S line model to feature a diesel engine, which is the main topic of discussion. The rest of the car is a Q5 and just like any other Audi business as usual.

Now under the bonnet there is an all new 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 that produces a massive 313hp/230kw and 650Nm. 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 250kph/155mph with Quattro all-wheel drive. Diesel consumption is 7.2L/100km or 33mpg. Fitted with the help of an eight-speed transmission and start-stop technology, these figures are achievable.

The steering has been fitted with an electromechanical power steering unit. There is also sportier suspension and lower ride height by 30mm to make it more dynamic in the handling department. Big 20inch rims or optional 21’s cover up the bigger brakes and black callipers to offer up more stopping power.

With Audi taking diesel to the next level, this could be a serious 50ppm drinker.
