Jaguar’s Bold Kitty

Actually before we start with anything, just look at the picture. Just look at it. Maybe once more. Go on, don’t be shy. No one can see you. Ok, ok, maybe just a bit more. Yeah I Know. It’s a convertible XKR-S. Yup. Jaguars fastest kitten has no top. Hummmmmmm…

Now, it still contains all the exciting goodies from the XKR-S coupe, like the big 5.0L supercharged V8 producing 550hp/405kw and 681Nm. They have maintained the six speed gearbox and changed a few bearings, shafts, gears, synchro’s, to make it smooth and fast changing. All this aids power to the Active Differential. All in all helps trough this baby from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and on to a top speed limited to 300km/h. Boohoo

Despite all the talk, the convertible model only gains 47 kilograms more than its coupe sibling. This is because the XK was designed to be a convertible from the word go and then a roof was fixed in place, for those that didn’t want to see the sky. Which is the opposite effect done by other manufactures and this one works. Nice

The extra weight has been sent to hang over the rear of the car. Giving it the same handling characteristics as the coupe model even though the springs and dampers have been revamped to compensate for the extra weight. Making both models feel the same.

Sort of like two jaguars in the wild, one with a few less spots on its back then the other. But just has vicious. And prettier than anything ever seen anywhere. Nice.
